Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assistance and motivation to improving South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions during an engagement together with the agency's senior professionals at a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric final exams.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for your National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% from the registered pupils from the schooling sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the investment decision government is earning inside the life of very poor and vulnerable children is yielding a positive impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
